New Beginnings Christian Academy is accredited by the Florida Council of Private Schools and accepts enrollment applications for students third grade and up for the 2008-2009 school year. We gladly welcome students and families of any race, color, national or ethnic origin. We accept Florida state McKay scholarships as well as the Children First corporate tax credit scholarship. While we do not require students to take or pass the FCAT at New Beginnings, we do participate in the Stanford 10 standardized test as a means of measuring each student's current academic ability. While this test does not directly impact a student's promotion, we do use the Stanford 10 as a tool to help us determine year-to-year progress in key academic areas and identify areas where possible changes may enhance the educational experience. Our first day of school for the 2008-2009 school year will be August the 18th. We will be adhering to the Duval County School Board calendar as closely as possible this year in order to help parents who have students enrolled in more than one institution, as well as to minimize confusion.
